First Stop, Seoul.

Last few hours

rain 26 °C

Annyeong haseyo, this is my first ever attempt at a blog so hang in their while i figure out my style and try to make it entertaining. Mkkk.

Im now im my hostel killing a couple of hours before i set off for Incheon airport to fly to LA. Today will last about 40 hours due to the time zone and flying away from the dateline. It will be a race against time and energy reserves to get to the LA Collussem to watch LA Galaxy vs Real Madrid, 3.30pm arrival and a 7pm kick off. Fingers crossed.
Seoul was brilliant. Its an ultra clean, modern city with lots to do. Seeing as i am here for monsoon season it hasn't stopped raining in 3 days.....actually more like 2 months. An umbrella has become my best friend and its impossible to keep your shoes dry, but its not such a big deal.
Day 1. Supposed to hook up with Andys mate but was pretty tired from my flight so i decided on Korean meal, beer and bed.
Day 2. Temples, national museum and electronics shopping. The electronics store was massive and cheap too. Mobile phone, laptop and memory card later i was on my way back to the hostel. That night i went out with a Japanese guy from my room, he couldnt speak much english but had an electronic converter so it was fine. We ate at a traditional Korean BBQ where you cook your meat on a grill at your table which was really cool. A bit like the French fondue. Later i was told that the meat may have been dog but i dont think so. After that, casino. I was not inteding to gamble but i felt like it may have been my day so cashed in $30 for roulette chips. After loosing the first 20 in 2 spins i decided loosing the last 10 would really hurt so cashed in my chips. They are really image conscious here, both the dealer and cashier laughed at me when i cashed in $10, loosers! Considering the average wage is $20k US i think they should take note.
Day 3. DMZ. Tour of the De-Militarised Zone between Nth Korea and Sth Korea. Part of the tour included a walk 70m below into one of the tunnels the Nth Koreans built to invade Sth Korea. At the observatory I got my camera taken off me by the sth Korean army for taking photos of Nth Korea that i shouldn't have. They deleted the photos and gave my camera back. Couldn't believe they spotted me. I though i was being so sneaky but to them im just another stupid chancer!
Day 4. Screen golf. Lots of fun. I didnt do to well, my best hole being a bogey but i came close to par a few times.
Fashion is interesting too. Apparently girls are considered prostitutes if they show cleavage or shoulders so they all make up for it by wearing t-shirts with hot pants or minis.....and gum boots with heels and straps are quite an exclusive fashion accessory. Both practical and stylish!!!

Now im off to the airport hoping that an A380 is waiting for me. Overall Seoul was a great place and lots of fun. The locals have no idea what lining up means and their is a big language barrier so if i came again a phrase book would be essential. Hello, thank you and excuse me can only get me so far. I actually had more fun here than Tokyo.
Cant wait to get to the States. Just in time for a massive Texas heatwave, 40 degree days forecast!!!

2 movies on the plane. 'Limitless' and 'Win, Win'. Rate them both but most will prefer 'Limitless'.
